Module 1: Welcome to Yipiyap!
Welcome to your online training course! This is a day-long programme to get you up to speed on tutoring before you begin your placement.
Your Induction training consists of 16 modules covering different aspects of teaching, working, and life as a Yipiyap. The first 12 modules cover the core skills of a Yipiyap tutor, and the remaining 4 deal with practical matters of your year with Yipiyap.
Each module consists of one or more videos, like the one below. Some modules will also include short tasks to complete, or provide optional further reading.

We expect this course will take you the whole day to complete, so don’t forget to take breaks - stretch your legs, get some fresh air, and look at something that isn’t a computer screen to rest your eyes. If you close this window, you can return here via the Tutor Portal’s Induction Hub.
After completing your training, you will be required to sit a formal assessment, so take notes, rewind where necessary, and make sure you fully understand each video before moving on. If you're joining us at the start of the Academic Year, the assessment opens on 1st September. If you’re joining us later in the year, you can sit the assessment immediately.
