Yipiyap Mental Health at Work Plan

Yipiyap gives information, tools and support promoting good mental health practices to all of our tutors at induction.

We have a formal document encouraging open conversation with tools for promoting good mental health for our tutors to access.

  • Huddles will be held regularly to ensure all Yipiyaps are OK and have the opportunity to raise any issues that are causing concern

  • All Yipiyap employees will respond non-judgementally and proactively to any tutor who reaches out to them about mental health issues

  • All Yipiyap employees have training on active listening to tutors who want to talk about mental health issues. RDs are aware that mental health issues may have contributed to absence when they complete a tutor’s return-to-work form

  • RDs will liaise with schools if any appropriate adjustments need to be made to address a mental health issue raised by a tutor

  • Tutors are to have good working conditions, both in terms of their physical space and in their contact with teaching staff and pupils

  • We will actively signpost Mental Health Awareness week in May each year

  • Our Head of Colleague Support is available for welfare meetings
